ZTreeLauncher

Ztree Launcher

Zlauncher is a small program that launches Ztree with a twist. It adds environment variables, allows a more portable solution to Ztree, and can enhance productivity. The program is not only free, but comes with the code source that you can modify.

Usage

Launch Ztree with customized parameters and additionnal features

What it does

  • Set Ztemp environment for the current Ztree shell session (allows more portability, these variables don't need to be set permanenty on the machine).
  • Set many "special directories" and "branches" to hold your utilities and special files, yet still with a great level of portability
  • Set Console Title to anything you want, the way you like
  • Set a number of environment parameters that can be used afterward in your batches. This allows a more portable Ztree solution for everybody. For instance, there is a variable for the drive letter from which Ztree is running (useful for portable media), another one for the full personal path of the currently logged user, etc, and many others.
  • Better control of Ztree console windows (Center at startup, Move at Startup, Always on Top, Automatic resize of console depending monitor resolution)
  • Note that once launched, Zlauncher totally exits from memory, so there is no overhead.
SEE INCLUDED DOCUMENTATION FOR MORE Zlauncher is written with BTEWin batch language. With freeware BTEWin (http://es.geocities.com/jpisoft/(external link)), it can be easily modified and recompiled into an executable. BTEWin is a very simple language. Anybody with some basic knowledge of programming can modify the BTE source code after reading the one-page language manual. Version 0.92 (Ian Binnie) (9 June 2007)
